![]() And once you get the hang of it, Burn Zombie Burn! reveals itself as a wonderfully designed arcade game that recaptures the arcade mantra of “just one more round” better than any other in recent memory. You’ll end up lighting up the entire hoard just to throw some TNT at them, wipe them out, and do it all over again. Give the game another chance, though, and you’ll start to see the balance that must exist between setting zombies on fire and shooting them in the head. You’ll set too many zombies on fire and lose all your lives or you’ll survive as long as possible without setting any on fire and fall short of attaining even a bronze medal for the level. The left stick moves your character, but you either aim in the direction you’re moving or lock on to the nearest enemy.Īt first Burn Zombie Burn! seems exceedingly difficult. BZB differs from Geometry Wars in one other key way – it is not a dual stick shooter. The PC version is published by P2 Games and launched via the Steam platform on August 12, 2010. Flaming zombies are faster, inflict more damage, and are pissed enough at you to follow you around the map. Burn, Zombie Burn is a shooter video game for PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows developed by Doublesix. The catch is that non-flaming zombies shamble around and only attack if you’re in range like you’d expect of the undead. Burn, Zombie, Burn could probably get away with being just an arcade mode at £6.29 (9.99. In order to get a high multiplier you’ll need to set zombies on fire. The design is also particularly hilarious, with nods towards both comic strips and retro-B movies. In order to get a high score you’ll need a high multiplier. Other weapons like shotguns, uzis, chainsaws, and lawnmowers can be picked up and used until they are out of ammo or fuel, but the torch is a constant and you can always go back to the pistol (this is handy if you picked up a lawnmower right before a load of explosive zombies spawned).īurn Zombie Burn! is played from a top-down perspective like Geometry Wars, is score driven like Geometry Wars, and allows the player to increase the score multiplier like Geometry Wars. You start any game type with two weapons – a pistol and a torch. The fun comes from striking a balance between settings zombies on fire and ending their unlives with your trusty pistol or whatever random weapon you picked up from the grass. Depending on the game mode it is your mission to last as long as possible against the zombie hoard, last until time runs out against the zombie hoard, or protect your girlfriend Daisy from the zombie hoard while she sits terrified in a convertible with the top down (I know it’s not smart, but I didn’t pick her). You are a 50s era greaser armed with a pistol. Geometry Wars + Left 4 Dead = Burn Zombie Burn! Really.

Some of the shades were a bit more sheer (namely Lie Lack and Turnt Orange) and you’ll definitely be able to see that in the arm swatches. I did feel like some of the shades required a bit more pressure to be applied (almost as if I had to break through some kind of sheer coating to get through to the colour), but once I got there, the colour was fairly solid. These have a soft matte feeling which is starting to become pretty standard for matte lip products. If you can believe it, there’s actually a pinky-purple and a straight up magenta in there! ![]() Although five of the nine shades look to be near identical in colour, I found that the colour of the packaging was SERIOUSLY misleading. Being the matte lip lover that I am, I was more than happy to try these out! The Velvet Matte Lip Colors come encased in a soft rubberized tube (similar to NARS packaging) and twist up from the bottom and can, thankfully, can be twisted back down. Regardless of their names, this is an entirely new set of products to me. I wonder if the rights to her line were only for the USS? I’m fairly confident that despite the shade names being different, they are in fact the same shades! Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Colors They’re missing the Fergie logo, and they seem to have totally different names when I compare them to the Fergie linup. I believe the Wet n Wild Velvet Matte Lip Colors launched as part of the Fergie Wet n Wild line in the USA (and were branded with her logo on it), but I got these here in Canada at a Wet n Wild launch party a few weeks ago. Let me start off by saying this product actually confuses me a bit. Now grab a plate, and put all these foods together and eat it all. Imagine eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but the jelly was replaced with mayo. Imagine getting a bowl of cereal, and pouring orange juice into it. Imagine taking a French fry, and putting sugar on it. But it does not mean that you are going to hate it, too, that is just my opinion and yours is very likely to be different from mine. ![]() Unfortunately, the staff seemed to have little to no idea of what they were doing and what they wanted. Maybe a very-very weak 8/10 was possible. Engage Kiss could have been much better than this, I am sure of it. ![]() But if you do not have that much time, because of school and work, honestly, waste your time on something better than that. Honestly, if you just love watching everything, Engage Kiss is not that bad. I think even any teenager will easily write a much better love story than Engage Kiss.Īll in all, I wasted my time for you. But what I want to discuss is, the anime is supposed to be about romance, love, but it is just everything, but not it. Here is a spoiler, it has hardly any comedy whatsoever. The last thing I would love to touch upon is the fact that this anime is supposed to be a romantic comedy. But I am not going to waste your time any longer. There are just too many questions and no answers. This anime fails to have any logic in many- many things. Add to this the idea that the story fails to have any coherence and this affects the anime’s character development in a very negative fashion, which makes it super difficult to like any of the series’ protagonists. Ogata Shuu is portrayed through the series as some sort of an idiotic gigolo and the anime is trying to make the viewer feel sorry for him. This drama is simply unreal to relate to, I simply failed to feel anything about it. The anime fails to make even 1 likeable character, because of these constant story shifts: from one character to another, out of nowhere we are getting more puzzle pieces of Shuu’s childhood and this just does not work. There is nothing more good to say about this anime, but I can keep on criticizing its flaws endlessly. The OST is also very solid, as well as the voice acting.Īnd that is it. What is more, even demons do not look cringe, but have very solid designs. No doubt about it, Engage Kiss has some quite good animation and flashy action scenes. The problem is that when drama kicks in, it is hardly possible to relate to it and it is a huge problem, the anime never managed to fix.Īs for the animation, the anime is obviously trying to win the audience with its animation and OST and maybe this was the only reason for me to keep on watching. The main problem of the story is that this anime is supposed to be a romantic comedy and it should have stayed as one. However, that is not the main problem of the story. ![]() But we have what we have, 13 episodes that hardly have any useful for the story information and this makes the anime somewhat boring it is very difficult to follow the story after 3, 4 and more episodes that do not have any importance for the story whatsoever. But let us talk about the story, which feels a bit chaotic and maybe as a movie, this anime would have been much better, because all the major events of the anime can easily be summed up in only 1 hour. Funny thing is that Darling in the FranXX did it much better than Engage Kiss. Remember me saying that you might experience a déjà vu with this one? The anime’s story very quickly, in its very first episodes, hints at a love triangle that is very similar to what was in Darling in the FranXX. What are those secrets exactly and why is Shuu so desperate to eradicate all the demons? However, the success of the Baron City also hides a secret… For some reason, because of the new type of fuel, a number of demons appears all over the city, where our protagonist Shuu and his demon partner Kisara live. is only possible, you guessed it right, in the Baron City. The anime focuses on a fictional city called ‘Bayron City.’ The key to its success is a new type of fuel and the production of the said fuel The formula for Engage Kiss is very easy and if you are familiar with Darling in the FranXX, you might experience a déjà vu. Or you can tl dr it as a ‘yet another title of A-1 that is just not that good.’ What is Engage Kiss? Engage kiss is a good story, plus fine animation, plus okayish characters, divided by people who have no idea what they are doing (the anime’s staff) and it equals Engage Kiss. Some of them were just like the peasants at home or those I saw coming through France and Germany, with short jackets and round hats and home-made trousers but others were very picturesque. ![]() At every station there were groups of people, sometimes crowds, and in all sorts of attire. It takes a lot of water, and running strong, to sweep the outside edge of a river clear. Sometimes we saw little towns or castles on the top of steep hills such as we see in old missals sometimes we ran by rivers and streams which seemed from the wide stony margin on each side of them to be subject to great floods. What ought they to be in China?Īll day long we seemed to dawdle through a country which was full of beauty of every kind. It seems to me that the further east you go the more unpunctual are the trains. I had for breakfast more paprika, and a sort of porridge of maize flour which they said was “mamaliga,” and egg-plant stuffed with forcemeat, a very excellent dish, which they call “impletata.” (Mem., get recipe for this also.) I had to hurry breakfast, for the train started a little before eight, or rather it ought to have done so, for after rushing to the station at 7:30 I had to sit in the carriage for more than an hour before we began to move. Towards morning I slept and was wakened by the continuous knocking at my door, so I guess I must have been sleeping soundly then. There was a dog howling all night under my window, which may have had something to do with it or it may have been the paprika, for I had to drink up all the water in my carafe, and was still thirsty. I did not sleep well, though my bed was comfortable enough, for I had all sorts of queer dreams. (Mem., I must ask the Count all about them.) I read that every known superstition in the world is gathered into the horseshoe of the Carpathians, as if it were the centre of some sort of imaginative whirlpool if so my stay may be very interesting. This may be so, for when the Magyars conquered the country in the eleventh century they found the Huns settled in it. I am going among the latter, who claim to be descended from Attila and the Huns. In the population of Transylvania there are four distinct nationalities: Saxons in the South, and mixed with them the Wallachs, who are the descendants of the Dacians Magyars in the West, and Szekelys in the East and North. I shall enter here some of my notes, as they may refresh my memory when I talk over my travels with Mina. I was not able to light on any map or work giving the exact locality of the Castle Dracula, as there are no maps of this country as yet to compare with our own Ordnance Survey maps but I found that Bistritz, the post town named by Count Dracula, is a fairly well-known place. I find that the district he named is in the extreme east of the country, just on the borders of three states, Transylvania, Moldavia and Bukovina, in the midst of the Carpathian mountains one of the wildest and least known portions of Europe. ![]() Having had some time at my disposal when in London, I had visited the British Museum, and made search among the books and maps in the library regarding Transylvania it had struck me that some foreknowledge of the country could hardly fail to have some importance in dealing with a nobleman of that country. I found my smattering of German very useful here indeed, I don’t know how I should be able to get on without it. (Mem., get recipe for Mina.) I asked the waiter, and he said it was called “paprika hendl,” and that, as it was a national dish, I should be able to get it anywhere along the Carpathians. I had for dinner, or rather supper, a chicken done up some way with red pepper, which was very good but thirsty. Here I stopped for the night at the Hotel Royale. We left in pretty good time, and came after nightfall to Klausenburgh. The impression I had was that we were leaving the West and entering the East the most western of splendid bridges over the Danube, which is here of noble width and depth, took us among the traditions of Turkish rule. I feared to go very far from the station, as we had arrived late and would start as near the correct time as possible. Buda-Pesth seems a wonderful place, from the glimpse which I got of it from the train and the little I could walk through the streets. M., on 1st May, arriving at Vienna early next morning should have arrived at 6:46, but train was an hour late. Chapter 1 Johnathan Harker’s Journal (Kept in shorthand.)ģ May.
